Nano-Tube Model PSAW Carbon nanotubes are extension of bucky balls. In fact, they are bucky balls without the ends closing. Hence, sphere are not formed and long tubular structures are formed that are called carbon nanotubes. Nanotubes are cylinders, which are lattice of carbon atoms, each atom covelently bonded to three other carbon atoms. The carbon nano tube derived from bucky ball is also called a bucky tube.
