Description

RS-485 Isolator ensures secure and dependable communication between a SCADA system and an SMC (String Monitoring Card). The DC-to-DC converter in the unit separates the power and signal lines. The signal isolation shields the SCADA from electrical issues like voltage surges or short circuits occurring on the SMB side. In case of a severe fault, the RS-485 (IEC 60870-5-101) isolator protects upstream devices, maintaining continuous data flow.
