This LARS is the most popular due its compact size. The configuration offered in this specification is one of the most practical designfor launch & recovery system of 1 diver’s air basket. A variety of other layouts are available and can be designed to any specific requirements. The system consists of the main A Frame (Rated to 1.5 Tons), the hydraulic power packs (2 completely independent units built into one tank with partition), hydraulically operated Rams for extending and resting the A Frame (Double acting bore 80 mm x Rod 56 mm x ST 1000 mm, fitted with dual lock valve (2 sets), Basket, Guide weight, 2 x hydraulic winches (one for basket and one for guide wire) and a dual power pack. The design allows the both the winch to be located on the base above the power pack. The electrics are Star Delta starters, enclosed in stainless steel electrical control boxes. The paint is double epoxy heavy duty marine grade paint. Main Winch for the Basket / Cage The main winch is manufactured and is certified for Man riding purposes. It is set hydraulically for 1 Ton (1000 kg) and tested to 1.5 Tons. as per IMCA guidelines. The winch is operator controlled to 18 mtr per min. The winch is powered by heavy duty Radial piston motor coupled to the drum via a planetary gear box. There are three independent braking systems on the winch, one internal disc brake second hydraulic over center valve and the third Manual band brake. The length of the 13 mm wire installed on the winch is 90 mtrs (Drum capacity 160 M) Guide Weight Winch The main winch is manufactured and is certified for Man riding purposes. It is set hydraulically for 1 Ton (1000 kg) and tested to 1.5 Tons. as per IMCA guidelines. The winch is operator controlled to 18 mtr per min. The winch is powered by heavy duty Radial piston motor coupled to a planetary. There are three independent brakes on the system, one internal disc brake second hydraulic over center valve and the third Manual band brake. The length of the 13 mm wire on the winch is 160 mtrs. The winch wire is double reeved through the Guide weight to the A Frame to be used for SWL of 1.5 Ton and the system tested for 2.25 Ton. Hydraulic Power Pack (Without Oil) This is the most critical component of the system, as it operates the Main, Guide weight winches and the hydraulic Cylinders . The twin hydraulic power pack is Housed in a 200 Litres. Common Hydraulic oil tank with partition up to full oil level. * Hydraulic Oil filter system X 2 * Filler breather X 2 * Suction strainer X 2 * Oil level gauge X 2 There are minimum hoses used on the LARS hydraulics that is only on the Hydraulic cylinders. All the piping is Stainless steel tubing. 2 X electrical control panel is mounted beside the hydraulic power pack on the skid. Main pump and motor rated as follows : * 11 KW / 15 HP power 415 V, 50 Hz / 60 Hz. * Hydraulic Vane Pump 39 ltr/min at 140 BAR,( Pump rated pressure 210 BAR) Secondary / Standby pump and motor rated as follows : * 11 KW / 15 HP, 415 V 50Hz/60 Hz power as determined * Hydraulic Vane Pump 39 ltr/min at 140 BAR,( Pump rated pressure 210 BAR) The Normal Operating Pressure of the LARS hydraulic system is 100 BAR. There are two separate stainless steel Electrical control boxes (one main and one emergency) to be used as per operational requirement. The controls for the launch and recovery of the movements of A frame basket (main winch) and the guide weight wire is located conveniently on the frame platform side, to give the operator a clear view during a frame launch and recovery. Power Supply Main supply – 415V (+10%), 50 Hz/60 Hz, 3 phase 11 KW / 15 HP each main and standby. Stainless Steel Basket The one diver basket provided with the LARS is made completely out of 316 Stainless Steel, thus ensuring long life and rust proof service. 1 or 2 x 50 ltr. x 200 BAR Breathing Air Cylinders can be mounted on the basket with High Pressure reducing Regulator as per Diver requirement in case of emergency. Appropriate hand holds are provided at regular intervals. The design of the basket has taken into account the height of a fully dressed diver with a diving helmet, mounted camera / light, etc. The basket is provided with a zinc anode. A cage is provided on the basket for safe transport of diver tools etc, and can also be used as a seat when required. Clump Weight / Guide weight The clump weight provided is 300 kg in weight. It is designed to reduce drag when in difficult current conditions underwater. The clump weight is provided with a zinc anode installed also.
