An SC/APC pigtail is a short length of single fiber optic cable that is pre-terminated with an SC/APC (Angled Physical Contact) connector on one end and an open fiber on the other. The SC/APC connector features an 8° angled end-face and a green housing, designed to minimize back reflection and ensure low return loss, typically =60 dB. The open end is spliced to fiber optic cables or equipment during installation. SC/APC pigtails are commonly used in high-performance singlemode applications such as FTTx, CATV, and optical distribution frames (ODFs), where precise, low-loss connections are critical.
