Description

Duplex filters are a valuable solution for applications where continuous fluid filtration is essential, and uninterrupted operation is crucial. They provide a balance between efficient filtration and minimal downtime by allowing for on-the-fly switching between two filter housings. This design ensures that the system remains operational even during maintenance or replacement of filter elements. Duplex filters are made up of two separate simplex filter housings connected by two 3-way change-over valves. This allows for in-service cleaning of one filtering element without interrupting the process flow. Duplex filters operate in a duty/standby arrangement. Smaller systems switch over with 3-way valves, while larger systems use inlet/outlet butterfly valves or ball valves. Duplex filters eliminate process disruption and facilitate continuous and uninterrupted flow. The duplex basket-type strainer is more suitable for robust chemical and abrasive applications. The usage of duplex filters is high in industries dealing with solid impurities, which may hamper the regular or smooth flow of the liquid.
