Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) – EC & EO Description An Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) using Electrocoagulation (EC) and Electro Oxidation (EO) is an advanced wastewater treatment system used to remove contaminants, chemicals, color, oil, and organic pollutants from industrial effluent. In the Electrocoagulation (EC) process, electric current is passed through metal electrodes (usually iron or aluminum), which release ions that help coagulate and separate suspended solids, heavy metals, and impurities from the wastewater. This process reduces turbidity, COD, and other pollutants effectively. After EC treatment, the water passes through the Electro Oxidation (EO) process, where strong oxidizing reactions occur using electric current. This process breaks down complex organic compounds, toxic substances, and color-causing materials present in the wastewater. EO helps further reduce COD, BOD, and harmful chemicals, improving the quality of treated water.
