NEW DELHI: Industry chamber CII today said its President Kris Gopalakrishnan, who is leading a CEOs delegation to London, today met UK Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills Vince Cable and discussed various areas of collaboration.
In a meeting with the delegation, CII quoting Cable said, in the last few years, most of the action has been inward investments into the UK by Indian industry. Indian industry in Britain is popular, creates jobs and is a responsible corporate citizen.
The two sides discussed various sectors of collaboration, including advanced manufacturing, innovation and R&D and small and medium enterprises connectivity, CII said.
Meanwhile, the delegation participated in the Annual CII-UK Conference to discuss the growth of UK and Indian economies and their impact on reviving other regional and global economies, the statement said.
On this occasion, a study on India-UK Partnerships in R&D and Advanced Manufacturingwas also released, it said.
The report highlighted the strengths, opportunities and challenges in these areas in India and Britain. It attempts to map the comparative sectoral strengths and complementariness between India and UK to take bilateral partnerships to the next level.
