Hand tools technology institute modernising its facilities

Chandigarh, Apr 23 (KNN) The Institute for Autoparts and Hand Tools Technology (IAPHT), Ludhiana is modernising its facilities and refurbishing its laboratories to impart skills in hand tools.

The institute will soon construct sheds for electrical sub-station, storage room for radiography, inter connecting pathways and workshops of cold forging and heat treatment section.

Towards this, it wants to purchase new equipment such as high voltage resistance testing machine, computerised servo hydraulic testing machine, manual torque tester, oil cooled type step down transformer, automatic voltage stabilizer, capacitor bank and electrical cables.

In this regard, the institute is seeking partnership from authorised foreign or domestic manufacturing firms for the supply of these tools.

IAPHT was set up to a research and development organisation for auto components and hand tools manufacturing sectors with the aim to uplift technological level of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) of the region.

It has an objective to help upgrade the industry to meet global market challenges.
