Description

Barbed wire, also known as barb wire, occasionally corrupted as bobbed wire[1] or bob wire,[2] is a type of steel fencing wire constructed with sharp edges or points arranged at intervals along the strands. It is used to construct inexpensive fences and is used atop wallssurrounding secured property. It is also a major feature of the fortifications in trench warfare (as a wire obstacle) The barbed wire shall be formed by twisting together two-line wires, one or both containing the barbs. The direction of twisting may be in one direction or alternately in left or right directions. 7.2 The barbs shall be so finished that the four points are set and located or locked as far as possible at right angles to each other (see Fig. 1).
