With increasing water scarcity and depletion of natural water resources, rainwater harvesting has become an essential practice in residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. The system utilizes natural rainfall, which is otherwise lost as surface runoff, and converts it into a valuable resource that can be used for various non-potable applications such as gardening, flushing, cooling, and cleaning, or for replenishing underground aquifers. The process begins with the collection of rainwater from catchment areas such as rooftops, terraces, or paved surfaces. This collected water is then transported through a network of downpipes to a first flush system, which is designed to divert the initial runoff containing dust, debris, and contaminants accumulated on the surface.
