Varanasi, Oct 22 (KNN) The 26th India Carpet Expo which showcased work from different parts of the country concluded here yesterday, generating business worth over Rs 550 crore.
Around 308 Exhibitors from different parts of the country participated in this export oriented fair where 300 buyers from 57 countries registered their attendance, said a report.
Organised by the Carpet Export Promotion Council of India (CEPC), the fair held at Varanasi’s Sampurnanand Sanskrit University generated business worth over Rs 500 to Rs 550 crore.
According to CEPC Chairman Siddh Nath Singh, the event was beneficial to medium and small exporters who cannot afford to display their products in overseas exhibitions.
It also displayed the capability of India in producing and supplying quality products on time.
The four day long event which is considered to be one of the largest Handmade Carpet Trade Fairs in the world was held from October-18 to 21.
