CHENNAI: Boiler and turbine maker BGR Energy Systems, which has been headless since the death of its founder and managing director BG Raghupathy two months ago, unveiled a new top management team Wednesday, elevating a director as CEO and making Sasikala Raghupathy, the founder's wife, the chairperson.
The move comes barely a month after the company constituted a five-member committee as an interim measure to carry the business forward. This it did as a confidence-restoring measure after the void at the top was taking a toll on BGR's stock in the market.
A Swaminathan, director for marketing and a BGR employee since 1997, as well as one of the members in the interim committee, has been made the joint managing director and CEO. He will be in charge of business operations. Another member of that committee, VR Mahadevan, director of technology and HR, has been made joint managing director.
