NEW DELHI: Newly elected CII President S Gopalakrishnan on Monday called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and discussed role of the industry in improving the overalleconomic climate of the country.
"The discussion focused on the role of Indian industry on improving the overall economic climate, with special emphasis oninvestments into India, reducing current account deficit and fiscal deficit, enhancing employability, entrepreneurship and MSME," CII said in a statement.
S Gopalakrishnan, co-founder and executive co-chairman of InfosysBSE -0.50 %, has been elected as the president of the industry body CII for the year 2013-14.
He succeeded Adi Godrej, chairman of theGodrej Group.
