NEW DELHI: Danish engineering firm FLSmidth today said it has got a Rs 190-crore order from Tata SteelBSE -1.58 % for supply of two pipe conveyors for transport ofBSE -2.91 % iron ore.
The conveyors would be used for "transport of six million tonnes per year of iron ore over a distance of around nine km from the company's Khondbond mines to railway loading point at Joda in Odisha," the Copenhagen-headquartered firm said in a statement.
These pipe conveyors will have a total conveying capacity of 1,400 tonnes per hour and would run through a challenging terrain and forest land, it said.
"The order will be booked by the Material Handling division and contribute beneficially to FLSmidth's earnings until 2014," it said.
FLSmidth had also previously delivered an in-plant pipe conveyor to Tata Steel's pellet plant application at their Jamshedpur facility.
The company has installed over 300 pipe conveyors across the world for material transport.
FLSmidth supplies everything from engineering, single machines and complete processing plants to maintenance, support services and operation of processing facilities to cement and minerals industries globally.
