KOLKATA: Leading domestic fan manufacturers are betting big on the potential of overseas markets to drive their businesses.
"We are looking at the huge opportunity ofexport markets like the Middle East, Asia and Africa," chairman of the CII-affiliatedIndian Fan Manufacturers Association(IFMA) Rohit Mathur said.
The government should lay down a policy framework which would help them in exporting their products, Mathur told reporters at the AGM of IFMA here today.
He said that in the last fiscal, the fan industry had grown by 8.2 per cent, against a de-growth of three per cent in the previous fiscal.
Mathur said that the growth of the fan industry had been driven by the real estate business followed by replacement demand.
He said that the industry had also urged Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) to popularise the star rating initiative.
