PUNE: Finolex IndustriesBSE -1.41 %, the largest manufacturer of PVC pipes in the country, has commenced commercialproduction at its new plant at Masar in Gujarat set up at an investment of about Rs 100 crore.
"Friendly industrial environment in Gujarat prompted us to set up a plant there. The plant is strategically located to cater to the ever-growing agriculture and real estate market of not only Gujarat but also Northern states," Executive Chairman of the company Prakash Chhabria told a press conference here today.
It is for the first time the company has set up a plant outside Maharashtra which will have production capacity of about 30,000 tons per annum in the first phase, he said adding the single window system in the state ensured 'fast clearance' for the project.
"The second phase of the plant would get commissioned during 2013-14 that would increase the capacity of the plant to 50,000 tonnes and the company's aggregate production capacity across its three ultra modern plants, one each at Pune and Ratnagiri, and the third one at Masar in Gujarat would be over 2,00,000 tonnes," he said.
