NEW DELHI: Godrej Appliances today said it is targeting 20 per cent growth in the ongoing festival season with a turnover of Rs 700 crore.
"We are targeting a growth of 20 per cent and a sales turnover of Rs 700 crore this (festival) season," Godrej Appliances Executive Vice President, Sales & MarketingKamal Nandi told PTI.
The company has enhanced its product line with new innovative product launches, practically in all its categories and sub-segments, he added.
"The festive season contributes to a significant size of business in the durables and appliance industry. While we have a line up of launches for this festive in every category, we also would like to delight our customers with Diwali goodies," Nandi said.
He added that the company has also launched attractive gift schemes with special festive offer on select range of products which include high quality dry irons, steam irons and juicer-mixer-grinders.
Godrej Appliances COO George Menezes said the industry has been going through flux lately. Depreciation of the India rupee, increase in commodity prices, infrastructure issues have added to the complexity of the season, he said, adding however that the lower penetration, changing lifestyle and increasing affluence and aspiration opportunity for growth.
Menezes said: "This year, in spite of delayed summer and early monsoon which effects the cooling categories like refrigerator and AC, we at Godrej have seen a healthy growth of over 20 per cent with the new products and huge marketing activities.
"We are looking forward to similar positive surge with new launches during this festive, a period which also traditionally sees peak for appliances sales."
