ICSI, MSSET & ASSOCHAM sign MOU to develop MSME sector in WB

Kolkata, Sept 18 (KNN)  The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) entered into a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Assocham and the Government of West Bengal to enhance growth and development of the MSME sector in the state.

The TRI-MOU was exchanged at ‘Synergy MSME 2013,’ a Mega Conclave of MSME’s being organized by the Government of West Bengal from September 16-21, 2013 at Milan Mela Ground, Kolkata with the ICSI being one of the partner organizations, according to an official notification.

ICSI would organize guidance to participants on incorporation and management of MSMEs under the Companies Act and the LL.P Act (Limited Liability Partnership Act).   It would also organise clinics for advice on finance, law and corporate governance on the theme “How to incorporate a company and comply with legal requirements.”
 
The clinics would provide one-to-one support to the visiting entrepreneurs at the Conclave along with an Info Kiosk for general info dissemination and sharing and providing of knowledge.  There will also be a help desk to disseminate information about ICSI and its role in Corporate Governance.
 
Further, ICSI in association with the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM) will also organize a plenary session during the Conclave on Company Law and Corporate Governance.

ICSI and ASSOCHAM will also support the Department of Micro and Small Scale Enterprises and Textile, Government of West Bengal (MSSET) in organizing seminars/ trainings by group / cluster of MSMEs and will develop a simple, easy to understand summary of Company Law to be put on the MSSET website.
 
In addition, ICSI will develop a check list of statutory compliances required by MSMEs.
