Kamlesh Yagnik appointed new Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry president

SURAT: Hundreds of people from the Diamond City's trade and industry converged on Veer Narmad South Gujarat University's (VNSGU) auditorium to participate in the 72nd annual general meeting of Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday.

Kamlesh Yagnik and Mahendra Katargamwala were installed as SGCCI president and vice-president respectively for 2013-14 at the meeting in the presence of secretary, ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Madhav Lal and president, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Prakash Bhagvati.

Owner of Micro Information Private Limited (MIPL) and the Energy Research Group Yagnik has done his MTech from IIT, Mumbai. He joined SGCCI as member in 1984 and since then has served the organization in various capacities. He had been committee chairman, group chairman, secretary and vice-president.

A senior SGCCI member Katargamwala is the founder of Bharat 
Cancer Hospital and president of K P Sanghavi Hospital. He is into real estate and hospitality business.

Yagnik told TOI, "SGCCI has made a mark for itself at the national and international forums. My priority would be to project the vibrancy of the city's trade and commerce at the international level."
