KOCHI: The Startup Village Kerala Government has launched a scheme to provide seed capital and support early stageinvestments of new entrepreneurs. The scheme is expected to strengthen the state's objective under the new IT policy to nurture one product start up a day, with the target of 3000 companies by 2020.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy announced that a state of the art Kerala Technology Innovation Zone at the Kinfra Hi Tech park.
The Startup Village, India's first telecom business incubator, is located at the park. The new hub will have a built up space of 500,000 square feet with all facilities required for a world class innovation ecosystem.
The Government Student Entrepreneurship Policy giving 20 % attendance and 5% grace marks for student entrepreneurs has taken effect. The Government has also given Rs 15 lakh for Startup Village's flagship programme SVSquare.
