Chandigarh, Dec 24 (KNN) The Punjab State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (Markfed) is keen to improve food processing unit, an initiative to expand food products in the state.
The federation will soon establish a modern state of art fruits and vegetables processing complex in Jalandhar for manufacturing and processing of fruits and vegetables to pack ready to eat food products along with wide range of Indian ethnic recipes to be packed in cans and retort pouches.
It will set up process plant machineries such as modern can filling line for pre-cooked RTE food products suitable for homogenous and heterogeneous products; bottling filling line for tomato ketchup and ready to drink beverage; modern jar filling line for jams; marmalade; chutneys and honey; spice grinding line for processing tuber type and other seed type raw materials etc.
In this context, the federation is inviting bids from corporations specialised in food processing machinery for design, supply, installation and commissioning the process plant machineries.
Markfed, which has been regarded as Asia’s largest marketing cooperative in agricultural sector emerged as a very solid and stable organisation committed to the service of the farmers of Punjab.
