MSME-DI Jaipur encourages youths towards entrepreneurship

Bhilwara, Sept 24 (KNN) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise-Development Institute (MSME-DI) Jaipur has been campaigning among the youth to turn them into entrepreneurs, in an effort to bring about vibrancy into their lives and enhance their future prospects.      

In this context, a senior official of the institute recently visited the Sangam University here and interacted with students.

MSME-DI Jaipur engaged in the promotion and development of small scale industries (SSI) in Rajasthan was set up in 1958. The consultancy services provided by it include techno-economic and managerial services. The entrepreneurs are guided to start their own ventures.

The labour intensity of the MSME sector is much higher than that of the large enterprises. It constitutes about 90 per cent of the total enterprises in most economies and is credited with generating more employment. It also accounts for a major share of industrial production and exports.

The sector employs close to 40 per cent of India's workforce and contributes 45 per cent to the country’s manufacturing output.

India's 1.3 million small and medium enterprises (SMEs) account for 40 per cent of total exports. The sector contributes 17 per cent to the Indian gross domestic product (GDP).
