Kolkata, Jun 10 (KNN) MSME Development Institute here is organizing various courses on management standards such an internal auditing, six sigma green belt, social accountability, etc to cater to entrepreneurs, beginning in the fourth week of this month.
The courses are suitable for enterprise owners, managers, supervisors, employees of MSME units, management professionals and consultants, according to an official notice.
Courses on offer include ISO-9001 Internal Auditor course; Six Sigma Green Belt; Awareness Programme on ISO 14000, Social Accountability SA 8000 implementation; Integrated Management System (IMS) Internal Auditor Course.
Each of the courses is between 2 to 5 day duration.
MSME - Development Institute, Kolkata, formerly - Small Industries Service Institute (SISI), Kolkata is a field Institute of Office of Development Commissioner (MSME), under Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
It provides assistance for the promotion and development of micro, small and medium scale industries in the state of West Bengal and Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. At present, there are three (3) branch institutes at Siliguri, Suri and Durgapur covering 20 districts in West Bengal and one branch institute at Port Blair covering two districts in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The aim of the institute is to implement policy guidelines of Government of India that is coming under Additional Secretary and the Development Commissioner (MSME), New Delhi of Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO), Government of India, Ministry of MSME.
It formulates and monitors the policies and program of the government for the promotion and development of micro, small and medium scale industries all over the country through MSME - Development Institutes and its branch institutes.
