Narayan Tatu Rane given charge of MSME Ministry
Meetings of Cabinet Ministers and Council of Ministers to be held tomorrow, There are 53 union ministries. However, these ministries will be handled only by 30 cabinet Ministers and and 2 MoS
In the mega Cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday, the charge of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has been given to Narayan Tatu Rane. Nitin Gadkari has the the charge of MSME Ministry prior to Rane.
Rane is the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He was a Cabinet Minister for Industry, Port, Employment and Self-employment in the Government of Maharashtra. He was a member of Shiv Sena and opposition leader of Vidhan Sabha until July 2005, before he joined Indian National Congress party.
Rane quit Congress in September 2017 and launched the Maharashtra Swabhiman Paksha. In 2018, he declared support for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and was elected to the Rajya Sabha on a BJP nomination. In 2019, he joined Bhartiya Janata Party and his party Maharashtra Swabhiman Paksha was also merged into BJP.
Mansukh Mandaviya, the junior minister in charge of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Chemicals and Fertilizers, has been given the charge of the crucial health ministry in the reshuffle of Modi's Council of Ministers that underwent a reboot. In addition, he would retain the Ministry of Chemical Fertilizers.
Meenakshi Lekhi has been appointed Minister of State in External Affairs and the Culture Ministry. She brings with her a strong background of articulation and interest in India's civilization and culture. Ashwani Vashnaw has been given the charge of Railway and IT ministry.
Smriti Irani will be the minister for Women and Child Development. Piyush Goyal has been given charge of Textile and Food & Consumer Affairs. Dharmendra Pradhan will be in charge of Education & Skill-building portfolio.
