Foundation stone of NSIC Business Park was laid by Shri Virbhadra Singh, Honourable Union Minister of MSME, Government of India at the NSIC Complex in Okhla Industrial Estate, New Delhi on August 3,2011. Addressing the audience on the occasion, Shri Virbhadra Singh, Honourable Union Minister of MSME stated that Marketing, a strategic tool for business development, is critical to the growth and survival of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) in today’s intensely competitive market. MSMEs are facing lot of problems in marketing of their products as well as conducting other activities for their business promotion due to lack of proper integrated infrastructure. So, this Business Park by NSIC, is truly an innovative project which would open up tremendous opportunities to MSMEs in expanding their marketing linkages around the world. National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), a PSU of the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) is engaged in providing integrated support services to MSME sector through its various schemes under the marketing, technology, credit and other support services. It has been developing new core capabilities by establishing new infrastructure projects to facilitate MSMEs in marketing of their products/technologies/services. NSIC’s Business Park is a very novel concept of making available modern infrastructure support to MSMEs. This a very timely step by NSIC in this direction for the growth of MSME sector. Apprising about the project, Dr. H.P. Kumar, CMD, NSIC informed that NSIC is establishing this Business Park with the objective to provide impetus to the marketing efforts of MSMEs by providing them with world class infrastructural support. He further informed that this Business Park will provide space to MSMEs for their business/ commercial activities in order to expand their base in the international market. It will also be utilized for conducting exhibitions and buyer-seller meets at periodical intervals to supports MSMEs. Establishment of this project would be benefiting the MSME sector of India in various ways, which inter-alia include: Availability of Office/ Marketing space; Exclusive space to showcase MSME products/ services at a prime location; Availability of Convention Centre for conferences and business meets; Availability of NSIC’s schemes/ services at their doorstep. This multi-storeyed, eco-friendly complex will also have financial institutions and other service providers for MSMEs like ATMS, Travel Desk and utility services etc. on the ground floor. Upper floors will comprise of display area/Exhibition halls, Convention Centre with related facilities and commercial office space for MSMEs. Shri Uday Kumar Varma, Secretary (MSME) stated on the occasion that NSIC has taken many initiatives in recent past, to enhance the marketing capabilities of MSMEs. Laying of Foundation Stone of NSIC Business Park, is another commendable effort of NSIC and will facilitate MSMEs in promoting their products and expanding their base. This eco-friendly business park is an innovative concept of making available modern infrastructure support to MSMEs. The MSMEs of India should take full advantage of the benefits of this forthcoming infrastructure which it envisages to offer at the door step of MSMEs under one roof.
