MUMBAI: Mercer Consulting has appointed Pradeep Mukerjee as country head and chief executive officer for India. Mukerjee, who will formally take over from September 2, joins Mercer from Confluence Coaching and Consulting, which he established in 2007 as the founding director.
Before turning entrepreneur, Mukerjee had spent over 19 years, in a number of leadership roles in India and overseas at Citigroup. His last assignment with Citigroupwas as HR director and vice-president, Citigroup, South Asia.
Mukerjee's focus as an entrepreneur was on executive coaching, leadership & HR strategy formulation and business goal setting for his clients. In his last role at Citigroup, from 1999 - 2007, he was responsible for the HR function across 10 legal vehicles employing 19,000 people. Before that, he was based in New York from 1997 to 1999 where his assignment with Citigroup included leadership talent review and identification, assessment and development of leaders for the bank, globally.
In 1994, Mukerjee was appointed vice-president and country HR head of Citibank N.A. for UAE & Gulf. Before his tenure at Citibank, Mukerjee was in a leadership role at Citicorp Overseas Software from 1988 to 1994. He has also has stints at National Radio & Electronics, Asian Paints and Tata Consultancy Services.
Mukerjee is a certified coach by International Coach Federation, USA and an independent member of the board of directors of Timex India. He holds a Masters in Personnel Management from TISS, Mumbai, and is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur.
