Chandigarh, Oct 30 (KNN) The Punjab State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (Markfed) which represents the interests of over a million farmers in the state is preparing to expand food production in the state.
To enhance food supply, the federation is keen to establish a new food processing unit at Jalandhar.
In this regard, Markfed is seeking partnership with companies specialised in food processing machinery to design, supply, install and commission for setting up of the new unit.
Asia’s largest marketing cooperative, Markfed is a marketing federation of over three thousand societies. With a turnover of over USD 2 billion, it has won recognition and many awards from the Government of India in various fields of excellence.
It regulates the food processing from farming to canning of products.
