RBI says banks borrowed Rs 115.45 bn via MSF on October 29

MUMBAI: Indian banks borrowed Rs 115.45 billion from the Reserve Bank of India's marginal standing facility (MSF) window on October 29, much lower than the Rs 185.02 billion on October 28.

RBI cut the MSF rate by 25 basis points (bps) on Tuesday to 8.75 per cent. It had raised the rate by 200 bps to 10.25 per cent in mid-July.

Banks usually tap the MSF rate during acute cash tightness.
