Rediffusion-Y&R has appointed Komal Bedi Sohal, one of the best art directors in the global advertising industry, as its national creative director.
MUMBAI: Communications agency Rediffusion-Y&R has appointed Komal Bedi Sohal, one of the best art directors in the global advertising industry, as its national creative director.
Sohal, who was with Lowe in Dubai before joining Rediffusion, is ranked number 2 in 'The Top Art Directors in the World' by The Big Won Creative Ranking 2011 and has been in the top 10 for the past five years.
"It's almost impossible to find such talent and I'm happy that she's moving her life to India to join us," Sam Ahmed, chief creative officer and VC at Rediffusion-Y&R, said.
In an ad career spanning 19 years, including the last 11 abroad, Sohal has produced award-winning work for brands such as Harvey Nichols, Land Rover, LG,Citibank, ColgateBSE 0.05 %, Virgin Atlantic, Axe deodorants and Xbox. She quit as executive creative director for Lowe Middle-East and North Africa to join Rediffusion.
Sohal will now be based in Mumbai. "It's homecoming in more ways than one," she said. "Both the city and the agency have a special place in my heart, and I am eager to get started right away." Her stash of international awards includes the Grand Prix, gold, silver and bronze at Cannes, One Show, The ANDYS, Art Director's Club & Dubai LynxBSE -4.92 %.
