Rajkumar Ghosh, Director (Refineries), inaugurated 'Productivity Week' at Indian Oil. Productivity Week is being observed at Indian Oil from 12th February to 18th February. The theme for this year is "Productivity & Innovation for Sustainable Development".

Various programmes have been organized to propagate the message of productivity, across the organization. Rajkumar Ghosh unveiled a poster on productivity and administered the productivity pledge.

In his message to the employees Ghosh said that a higher scale of productivity is the only answer to the recession-ridden global economy for attaining the ultimate objective of prosperity.

In this period of constant change, intense competition and wafer-thin margins, financial judgment suggests that our business organisations improve their performance and leave no stone unturned in controlling wasteful processes.

This improvement will come about only if we focus on production of quality goods, in a cost effective manner. Today the entire business environment is becoming more complex than ever before. Change is occurring at an accelerating rate.

The number of competitors is increasing dramatically. Business is globalizing, new technologies are being introduced at a rapid pace and the workforce is expected to be very professional.

There is a transformation taking place from an industrial to a knowledge based society, said Ghosh.
