S Chandrasekhar moves to Dr. Reddy's as HR head

BANGALORE: Sripada Chandrasekhar, vice president and head - human resources, IBMIndia and South Asia for IBM, has resigned. He joined as HR head of Dr Reddy's on Thursday, according to Saumen Chakraborty, president and chief financial officer of the pharmaceutical firm. 

The post of HR head for the Hyderabad-based company was vacant for almost two years after Prabir Jha, the earlier HR head resigned to join 
Tata MotorsBSE 0.56 %. Chakraborty had taken over human resources segment as an additional responsibility. Chandrasekhar will now steer a workforce of 16,500 for the company. 

Chandrasekhar has been with IBM for the past four-and-a-half years, before which he worked as vice president and head HR for
Capgemini. Prior to his foray into the information technology domain, he headedReliance Infocomm as their head of HR for around five years. He has worked with NIIT as well, as their VP and HR head, from 1996-2000. 

Chandrasekhar has a degree in business management from the University of Leeds and a masters in English literature from University of Hyderabad. 

IBM refused comment on Chandrasekhar's move.
