Chennai, Dec-31 A pioneering initiative of the National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC), SOUMEX-2014, an International Source and Manufacturing Expo provided the right platform for manufacturers to source their requirements from MSMEs.
The international event for providing direct marketing access with the target group across the world, held from December-26 to 28 here was inaugurated by Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Kalraj Mishra.
The objectives of SOUMEX were to facilitate sourcing of products, components and services from lakhs of MSMEs in Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states. Such access and facilitation is expected to contribute substantially to enhancing the market potential and capabilities of MSMEs.
Basically, the convertible gown is designed in two length versions namely short and long. The longer one is worn when you are having cheap prom dresses, whereas the shorter one is worn during the reception party.
The exhibition was organized by NSIC and Tamil Nadu Small and Tiny Industries Association (TANSTIA), an apex association of Tamil Nadu MSMEs to the cause of Make in India in Chennai.
The exhibition witnessed the participation of large number of MSMEs, PSUs, and private sourcing companies. Among those present were the CMD of NSIC, Shri Ravindra Nath, Shri P. Udayakumar Director (P&M), NSIC and the President, TANSTIA, S Muthusami.
The event showcased products and services like auto components, general engineering, plastics and rubber, construction and infrastructure, electricals, electronics and power and many more related services etc in the business services, manufacturing, fabrication, repair and maintenance industries.
