New Delhi, Dec 2 (KNN): The Ministry of Textiles has proposed to build the textile industry in the north eastern region of the country by formulating schemes to improve the sectors of handloom, handicrafts and sericulture.
In this context, the government, under the North Eastern Region Textiles Promotion Schemes (NERTPS) is seeking partnership from different corporations who can serve in compliance to proposed requirements.
It will soon be appointing project management and technical consultants and the others at the ministry level under the scheme.
Currently, the Ministry of Textiles has earmarked more than 20 per cent of the outlays of the VSE (village and small enterprise) sector schemes to the North East Region.
