The award for the period 2018-19 was given to TIDITSSIA based on the association’s performance in organizing entrepreneurship awareness camps and developing entrepreneurs by coordinating with EDII. On the international MSME Day, which is observed annually on June 27, EDII Chennai, constituted by Tamil Nadu government and functioning under department of MSME, has been organizing a meeting to promote MSME sector and award top performing MSME organizations. Tiditssia organized eight awareness camps in 2018-19, which were attended by 920 participants and also conducted 16 training programmes participated by 347 entrepreneurs in the same period. Besides, four specialized programmes including for defence corridor, GST and eway billing were conducted by TIDITSSIA, which was attended by 323 participants. Acknowledging the proactive measures taken up by Tiditssia in developing MSME sector in Trichy, EDII Chennai awarded the association as best performing MSME association. “We have also conducted entrepreneurship development activities for college students to encourage first-generation entrepreneurs. This is the first time a Trichy-based MSME body is receiving the state-level best performer award,” N Kanagasabapathy, president, Tiditssia told TOI. The MSME association in 2018-19 through its mentoring activities such as to avail subsidies has developed around 300 entrepreneurs, he added.
