TN to modernise textiles spinning mills

Chennai, Dec 27 (KNN)  As an effort to modernise its handlooms and textiles industry, the Tamil Nadu government proposes to build and improve manufacturing facilities.

The state Department of Handlooms and Textiles wants to set up common testing laboratory at Anna Cooperative Spinning Mills Limited in Theni.

It will soon install the textiles testing equipment like high volume instrument, computerised CSP tester, evenness tester and electronic twist tester.

Towards this, the department is inviting bids from reputed firms to be supplier for the instruments.

Cooperative Spinning Mills in Tamil Nadu has an objective of providing un-interrupted supply of quality hank yarn to the cooperative handloom weavers at concessional rates.

Presently, the Anna Cooperative Spinning Mill at Theni and Bharathi Cooperative Spinning Mill at Ettayapuram are working on business profit.

Textile industry of Tamil Nadu is the forerunner in industrial development and in providing massive employment in the state.
